LT250 With RM250 Motor
#1
Just wondering what the differences would be between the Motors,
ive been offered one with the RM motor in, just wondering if its worth bothering with, probably stuff a 500 in there at some point but it would be nice to have 250 play thing for a while,
any advise??

What year is the quad. If it is a RM motor in an 85/86, then the motor is a big improvement over stock, but if the quad is a 87-92, then the motor isn't much different.
SNOWRIDER,
They are both 2 stroke motors

i know nothing of dirtbikes or there engines and im not to bothered about any advantage of it having the RM engine, ive kind of set my heart on an LT250 i just want to be sure it would be worth having with a non standard engine or if i would be better holding out and hoping to find an original
if your opinions are that at worst it wont be a significant improvement then im sure i can live with that, it seems like a reasonable bike for the money so i think ill give the guy a ring in the morning and take a look,
thanks for the help

Dirtbike engines are not counterbalanced so they need motor mounts that can handle and isolate the vibrations. Broken motor mounts and loose bolts are very common with dirtbike engines in quad frames.
