I have a 2000 Trailblazer and I'm looking for some experienced opinions on an aftermarket clutch and/or pipe combinations......Will I get a $300-350 increase in acceleration/power?......Which one will increase the "feel"(torque) of power the most?......I know some of you guys have tried it all, you know what works best from experience. Let me pick your brain.

With this general rule of thumb, $100 on average for every 1 HP gained, yes, you will get $300 worth of performance, but I don't think it will not be quite what you are expecting.

Raising compression is the cheapest and easiest way to gain HP, but doesn't make much sense for a TBlazer. Go with either a RCR or HPD pipe with their suggested clutch kit. To get the most out of either though you will have to move up to a bigger carb.

My Fun Fund is almost big enough to get the components I want for my Trailblazer, which includes a Carb, problem is what size Carb do I get? I can't find much info on this particular subject.

I think the best carb choice fro the Tb is the 38TMX Mikuni. Of course it must be used in conjunction with other mods to be 100% effective.

PAPaul,

I have a Mikuni 38mm tmx carb on my 99 TB. If I had it to do all over again I would try something else. Don't get me wrong there are advantages but its not a mod that you can bolt on and forget about. I had to get a Pro Motion twist throttle because for some reason the stock cable was too short. I've had the intake manifold (hard rubber) the part that connects the carb to the head, break apart TWICE!!
The best answer may be with a 34mm carb off a 400 scrambler or something other than a Mikuni TMX.
The advantages are better throttle response and a HP gain.
