Default Buying a vinson

Hi. I am leaning toward the 5 speed.I found an auto for $6,784.68 out the door. The 5 speed is a couple hundred less. Is that a good price?. Also, I want to add a winch, and a front bumper/brush gaurd. Is there any places that offer good deals on this stuff or should I just have the dealer instal it when I buy it? I think I made the right choice on this machine. I looked at just about all there is out there. I will be using it for duck hunting, deer hunting, and I wan't to be able to play hard on it. I am also was wondering about the bolt on rear seats,or a double seat. I do know that this is not a two-up machine. Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated!

You can put the winch on yourself, All the wiring is already on the 2004 models. The moose front bumper/brushgaurd is on eBay for a good price. My buddy bought one and it looks good.
the 5spd will let you keep it in 1st or 2nd when you need to. Aftermarket tires will help it go anywhere.
I have 28" Gators on mine and my buddy has 28' mudlites on his with no lift or rubbing. the Mudlites are about a 1/2 taller than the Gators.
I have a Detriot gearless locker in mine and had it in a mud hole with water over the front rack last week.

Hey dazey, thanks fore the reply. The pics you have are great! I found a 3.0 warn winch, and a mounting plate on e-bay.The total cost with shipping for both was $390.00. I'm still looking for a front rack. I pick up the vinson this week-can't wait! I haven't even got the thing and I'm already planning upgrades. Does the locker make that much of a difference? Is it hard to turn? The stock limited slip works well, from what I have heard. I also want a seat to attach to the rear rack for my wife. .(for when its at a stand still,of course;-)) Iam having a hard time getting her to share my exitement.Any one else have anything to add, please post Thanks,Ron

My buddy has a Vinson also. He has 28" mudlites on his and can go any where I do with my locker. The locker makes steering much harder when in 4x4. Also can tell it's there when going over 35-40 mph. Not to sure if it was worth the money. With the stock one if you get stuck and only one wheel spins you can tap the front brake to get the other tire to grab. In deep mud it helps. I dont have to hit it as hard as he dose, I can just ilde through it.
My wife was not happy with me when I bought my Vinson at all. I talked he into riding it up and down the driveway and she was hooked. Had to go but her a Scrambler 3 months latter.

In my opinion, the best bumper out there for the Vinson is the one offered directly from Suzuki for $130.

I must not be the only one rained out today!(northern,ca) qf-I like the factory bumper, too. I'm going to be pushing my way through some manzanita at times,I'm sure. I will need some protection for more than just the bottom part of the quad. (factory not enough protection.)There is a factory bumper on e-bay right now btw-i think its only at $90.00 Hey dazey-how often do you ride your "wifes" scrambler-lol

Iv'e got quit a bit of seat time on it. I broke a CV on my Vinson after I put in the locker. Took it to the dealer under warranty and it took him 5 weeks to fix it. Once I got it back two weeks later the other CV broke. I just order heavy duty CV's from Rockford wich took 3 weeks to get. I rode her scrambler during those times. That quad is very capable and will go through any thing. Has a great 4x4 system and is a good slider.
