250x engine oil leaks

Default 250x engine oil leaks

when i put a cam and valve springs and i put it back together i put gasket maker on it but that didn't work and it is leaking oil i was woundering if anyone has rebuilt a 250x engine and have it not leak oil and what did u do to do that

Get a real gasket and try again, it will leak a little but that is because the gasket needs to be broken in, and form to the contour of the casing. Whatever it may be

Default 250x engine oil leaks

Where is it leaking? Most of the 250x 300ex leak at the rocker cover. Use Hondabond for sealing them

they dont make a gasket for it, i used honda bond on mine when i had it, it never leaked.

mines doin that...im too scared to pull the rocker cover off..I might break somthing [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

there isnt anything to break on it, its basically idiot proof. take all the bolts out of it and clean both surfaces real good and apply hodabond to it and bolt it back up.
