Default My Rincon could be for sale

Im not overly thrilled with the performance im getting outof my rincon. Throttle response seems a little sluggish and it only gets up to about 90 kms an hr topped out on a paved road and it takes a long stretch to get it up to that speed. I put 27 " mudlites on it with the itp c series rims and it looks great , only slowed it down about 5 - 10 kms per hr. I have seen pics of guys wheeling but i couldn't get mine to do it even with the stock tires.Have heard alot of guys re-jetting and carb kits and so on will this really help? Im about ready to sell it if i can't get this bike to perform better

If you added aftermarket products,or its jetted for summer and its winter out you will need to rejet it. It will make a big throttle differnce if you do. Its about $4 for a jet last time I bought one.

Hi there. How many kilometers do you have on your Rincon? I couldn't get my Rincon to wheelie at all until I hit 700 km. Now all I do is sit back on the seat a little, punch the gas and the front end comes straight up. (as long as I have traction of course) The Rincon uses a Nikasil coated cylinder, and the engine takes quite a while to loosen up, a lot longer than other ATV engines. As for the top speed, are you saying you can't get your machine over 90 km/h on a paved road with stock tires? Running 27" tires along with C-series rims will slow you down quite a bit, but you should be able to easily hit 99 km/h with the stockers on. (The display only goes to 99 km/h) With my 26" Mudlites on C-series rims, I can hit 90 km/h on a packed dirt road. Obviously something is wrong with your Rincon if you can't hit 99 km/h on a paved road with stock tires. Why not bring the machine to your local dealer and have them check it out? What type of oil are you running? Honda Canada recently came out with a special 0W30 oil specifically designed for Canadian winter conditions. If you are running the 10W40 oil that was put in at the factory, that could certainly be part of your problem. Many things could cause what you are describing. The valves may be improperly adjusted, the carb could have a plugged orifice, the air filter may be dirty, the oil pressure could be low, you could have an electrical problem, etc. I suggest you have a qualified technician look at your Rincon before selling it. Have you driven any other Rincons to compare yours with? When running properly, the Rincon is the ultimate 4x4 trail machine and an absolute blast to ride. I hope you get this worked out.

I just changed the oil with the GN4 that they say to use. Mine only has 500 kms on it so maybe it needs a bit more break in. I haven't driven any others to compare it too. The dealership says they don't think anything is wrong with it but they haven't had any in the shop to work on so they really don't know. How long of a distance did it take u to get up to top speed ? It took me about a good 3/4 km stretch of paved road to hit 90 kmwith the stock tires.

What about a K&N, aftermarket muffler, and of course a rejet? Always can use some more power, especially with tall tires.

I'm not sure how long it takes me to reach 90 km/h with stock tires on a paved road, but I don't think it is as long as you. I'll check on Sunday and let you know. Is 90 km/h your absolute top speed with the stock tires, or are you just running out of room? Not sure where Pefferlaw is and what temperatures you are presently expereriencing, but are you aware that GN4 oil is only good to -5 Celcius? The 0W30 HP4 oil I mentioned is good from -30 to+20 Celsius. You shouldn't be running GN4 oil if you're near or below -5 Celsius. How long are you letting your Rincon warm up before running these speed tests? If in fact you're running GN4 and it's colder than -5 Celsius, it would take the oil a long time to warm up and allow the transmission to work properly, and it probably still wouldn't work properly because the oil is not designed to be used in cold climate. Of course, if you're well above -5 Celsius forget everything I just said.

Im in Ont, Canada and its well below -5 here most of the winter. 90 was the best it would do plenty of room. Im definatley letting it warm up enough so maybe the other oil u mentioned would be better. Im going to try the kn airfilter and see what happens.

If it's been well below -5 Celsius, you've been running the wrong oil the whole winter. Not only will this cause your Rincon to work well below its full potential, it is also murder on the engine during cold starts. One thing I've got to mention, installing a K&N filter on your ATV will not fix anything. If you can't hit more than 90 km/h with a stock Rincon (including the air filter), there is a problem somewhere that you can't just cover up by installing an aftermarket filter. If your Rincon runs better/faster after installing the K&N, you were obviously running too rich and should try to find out the cause. The K&N may flow more air than the stock filter, but in order to flow more air it also lets in more dust/debris. In the long run your engine will suffer the consequences. Just my opinion.
