Front brakes require full pull of the lever before they even think of locking up. Tried bleeding them but maybe didn't do it right. Any tricks out there that might make this easier? Bled it enough that we filled up the reservoir at least twice on each side, and no, we didn't let it get low and get some air in it. Have helped dad bleed brakes on trucks enough to know that.

 

Try taking the brake resevoir off of the handlebars and raising it up as high as posible.
This sometimes helps. It makes the brake lines les bent

 

I had the same problem, then the mechanic adjusted the cable and lever. Now it wants to throw me over the front if I hit the brakes to quick.

Sorry, should've said they're on my brother in laws 400ex. I've tried bleeding them but maybe I should've kept at it longer?

 

yeah man it seems to take way longer to bleed brakes on a quad then on a truck....maybe becsause of the small diameter lines. took like 10+ times to bleed my freind's raptor. just try to do on side first, that worked for us. and when you think your done, do it 2-3 more times...brake fluid is cheap

 

If its a drum, pull the little red plug and turn those sproket wheels the way the arrow is pointing. They will tighten right up, I do it every few rides.
