Default front wheel is binding on 300ex

I bought a 2000 300ex last month i did not get any manual with it. My problem is my left front wheel will barley turn I took the wheel off and i cant see any obstructions mabe brake is locked up? I can turn it manually but it makes a squeky noice. I let fluid out of the line to see if that was the problem but even with no presure in lines still is hard to move. I am a novice and would be greatful for any advice any body has for my 300ex

I know you said that you relieved the brake line pressure, but did you pry the pads from the dis and was still hard to turn?

If so, loosen the hub nut about a 1/2 turn and see if it frees up then. If so, remove the bearings and check for wear. If there is none, chances are someone replaced them and overtightened the hub nut. This is always the culprit with the guys who post on here whining about wheel bearing failure every 3 months....LOL

If you feel any movement at all with the bearing race, replace BOTH bearings and seals on that hub.

You can usually take the slack out by tightening the nut.......but not overtightening it.

This works in most cases, but if the quad was ran along ime with that slack, I doubt it helps to save your bearings. It may work for only a couple of weeks if it's gotten that bad.

That's why the guys who are maintainence freaks never have problems. They catch this before problems arise later.

Every two races, I actually remove the whole thing and grease my bearings while I'm there. Never had a bearing failure on the front of anything that I have owned.

Thanks for you input. I am going to try prying the brake pad back and lube it up. I looks like the brake pad is tight around the disc.
