I have a biddy that has a 03. They are all right...I would get a pipe for it, they don't have alot of power. Get a pipe , K&N filter and of course jet it.

Your 96 and the 03 is a completely different bike. The 96 is like the Trailblazer. They do have alot of power but it needs to be unleashed. All around it is a solid quad. Dont expect to beat up on 400 ex's or anything like that.

My wife has a 96 trail Boss. The Hpd late model trailblazer pipe fits very well on that bike.

My first polaris was a 98 250 trailboss, i wish i never sold it that thing was great ran through the mud excellent and it was very reliable never had a problem with it. Had it for 4 years beat the heck out of it too. I deciced to get a scrambler 400 4x4 for a little more power, big mistake they just dont hold up to riding hard. Too heavy I think. i put some cheap styrker tires from walmart on the rears of the trail boss and that thing would go through some serieous mud, took it to cochriton P.A. for that big atv run, thing was great never got stuck once, and there were plenty of jap atvs stuck everywhere. Just went right around them. Very good machine, polaris put the 4 stroke in them and changed the body style ,I heard they had alot of problems with the new style.
