removing primary clutch

Yes you can use the impact to get it off, just start it by hand a ways first. It goes back on very easy just put the primary back on the shaft and then run the bolt thru it and torque it down. You will see how it fits once you get it off.It is a tapered fit.

I'ts also a good idea to put just a dab of anti-sieze in the clutch removers first couple of thread. Also a very thin smear (basically a film) of anti-sieze can be wiped on the crank before installing the clutch.
The spider tool is really the way to go since the torque is soooo high. Most dealers (if you bring the clutch in by itself), will break the torque, and re-torque it for you.
