whens the best time to pull a wheelie? gear - rpm.... i try a lot in 1st but it revs high and i dont wanna rev it to high. also when you guys a taking a relaxing ride ( haha relax on a ds haha powwerrrrr) what rpm do ya shift at i do it at like 25 but everyone says thats weak..[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] but im thin of sellin mine just got it like umm 2 weeks ago its to wide and heavy i kn i kno ill regret it but idkkkk helppp me hha

 

I am a big fan of the slow wheelie. I start from a dead start and can ride forever in first gear. You just need to get to the balance point and you can control your speed with clutch and throttle and rear brake. Just practice and you will figure it out. As far as shifting goes, I usually keep the rpm's between 3000 and 6000, much lower and you'll hear gear noise and it doesn't pull real hard.

Pop the clutch and give gas and it should come right up, then just feather the throttle and u should do great, if u get alittle to far up and u are not comfortable with it just hit the back brake and u will come right back down. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Lance

Practice makes perfect. I've had a half a dozen different quads and can honestly say the DS is a far better wheelying machine than any of them. I could never ride a wheely thru 3 gears without the wheels touching the ground on those other quads. The DS power is forgiving in this area. The only way to get better is keep after it. Good luck.

 

Practice on a uphillgrade, it's much easier. I could ride one a lot farther on my old 440EX than I can on my DS. Z-400s are really easy to ride one on too.

Also run low rear tire pressure, it will help.

 

i wait until its just before the powerband then i snap the throttle a little bit and it pulls up in 2nd gear havent tried third yet but i can shift to fourth before the front drops. im not quite sure how hard the powerband hits on the DS.

 

second works good and 25 is before the power really gets good
