I am a big fan of the slow wheelie. I start from a dead start and can ride forever in first gear. You just need to get to the balance point and you can control your speed with clutch and throttle and rear brake. Just practice and you will figure it out. As far as shifting goes, I usually keep the rpm's between 3000 and 6000, much lower and you'll hear gear noise and it doesn't pull real hard.

Pop the clutch and give gas and it should come right up, then just feather the throttle and u should do great, if u get alittle to far up and u are not comfortable with it just hit the back brake and u will come right back down. Lance

Rykid,
Practice makes perfect. I've had a half a dozen different quads and can honestly say the DS is a far better wheelying machine than any of them. I could never ride a wheely thru 3 gears without the wheels touching the ground on those other quads. The DS power is forgiving in this area. The only way to get better is keep after it. Good luck.
