Default Clutch replacement question PLEASE READ

hey, i had a question before i replace my clutch on my 98 warrior. i bought the parts and when i was reading the directions on the back it says to soak in oil which i understand. Then it says that once the clutch is installed with the engine running to slip the clutch for a few seconds to remove excess oil from the clutch plates. Could some one please tell me what they mean by slipping the clutch and tell me how to do this?
