Not good, stuck in 3rd

[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] The DS is stuck in 3rd gear, looks like I will be taking this thing apart. Does this sound like shifting forks, or a problem with the gears.. LAst year, I kept finding myself between gears during some drag races[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

I got the motor out,,,all to familiar site [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] I don't think I want to mess with it, I guess I will try to find someone local? , if someone knows some one good let me know

Be sure and check the roller detent arm that rides on the shift drum. Sometimes it will be slightly bent and the book doesnt really show how it's supposed to look. Just be sure that it's not slipping off the drum during shifts. You can check this once the left case is pulled off.

when you push up or down on the shifter, it sounds like the ball in a can of spray paint[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] when you shake it.

It sure ran good before it got stuck in 3rd,i was really impressed, i was even more impressed when it pulled in sand from a dead stop in 3rd like it was in 1st[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]
