Default 04 Kodiak 450 or Polaris Sportsman 400?

I have a 04 Yamaha Kodiak 450, and i recently have been looking at Polaris Sportsman 400. I dont know what I was thinking because i never really even looked into Polaris when i was shopping for a 4wheeler but it seems to me that the Polaris 400 has more cc's and Independent Rear Suspension, a higher ground clearance and atleast $500 cheaper than what I paid for my Kodiak 450. I've already had the belt on the Kodiak slipping sometimes when going through holes and ive been told that Polaris rarely slip for anyreason. Is the Sportsman 400 a better 4wheeler? And if so, my Kodiak has 400 miles on it and its still under warranty, so if i decided to sell it, how much is it worth now? I want to get all that i can for it, naturally. I paid $6996 out the door. Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated!

The biggest hit you will take when selling something is in the first several years. I'd say keep the Kodiak 450 and enjoy it! Why don't you like it?

I don't believe that Polaris belts never slip. I was riding my neighbors Grizz last year and a buddy was riding a Polaris 500 HO and when he climbed over the same log I did he gave it gas and smoke came roaring out of the belt case.

If you know how to ride it.....the polaris belt won't slip.....most of the time when people find it slipping they are doing something that requires the quad to be in low, yet they keep it in high.

I am sure he probably did do something like that to make the belt slip. I was just trying to make a point that they do slip.

Oh yeah, no doubt they slip on something like that, but if you know how to ride "in gear" then it should very rarely slip.
