Banshee Tuning help
#1
I have 2 friends with practically identical 01 shees. FMF reeds, fatty pipes, and boost bottles. I suggested to them a 32:1 mixing ratio. I know that the factory spec of 24:1 is too oil rich, but is 32:1 a good mix with yamalube and gs?
Also: Both have stock, unmodified filters and airboxes. Approximately what jetting would you think they should be running with? We are just above sea level at 600ft or so.
Thanks for the help. I am trying to get these guys running right so they can go riding with me on memorial day. One guy is fouling plugs left and right (rich oil and maybe jetting) and the other seems way too lean. I dont know what the current jetting is in either, but I'm afraid one might still have stock jets....

I just went through jetting my banshee again with my new fatty pipes.
Ended up with k&n needle on the 3rd clip, 280 main, 30 pilot and about 1 1/2 on the air screws...seems to run great so far.
I am also at about 500ft.
That should get you started.

if the guy is in fact running stock jets he is running lean. as for oil i run a 40.1 mix with Motul and thats actuly a rich mixture with that oil cuz its recomended at 50.1 my air mixture screw is 2 turns out, i run the toomey t-5 pipes with a vented airbox jetted at 280 and im not sure on the needle it came with the kit and im running that on the 3rd clip. my sugestion would be to ditch the yamalube and run a premium mix oil such as motul. dont let the price scare you its about 12 bucks a quart but running at a 40.1 mixture it goes just as far as yamalube at 32.1 12 bucks for the gallon. thats just my 2 cents though
