To remove the gearcase, first off take off the items on the top of it(airbox, carb) for easier access. Remove the skid plate. Next take off your tires and your chain.....Then loosen the bolt(screw it in) that is holding pressure up against the side of the frame, and also remove the bolt that is in the bottom of the gearcase, that mounts the case to the frame. Remove the bolt from the bottom, holding the shock on.....and then remove the swing arm bolts. I have heard, but never tried myself, that you can remove the gearcase by just taking one swing arm bolt out, but I always removed the whole swing arm. Now is a good time, if you remove the whole swing arm, to put new bushings and those plastic washers in. It isn't hard, just time consuming.....an extra hand comes in handy if you have one, but if not, one person can do it. Good Luck!! You may post this in the Polaris side next time, you will get more replies.
