Default tranny rebuild

I'm putting new bearings in my Magnum and I was wondering if could bring the old ones in to a auto parts store and have them mic. them and match em up?If so, it'll probably be cheaper than OEM. Thanks

Yes you can. Often, the bearing will have a number you can read off of it, and you can call the parts store, and they can tell you over the phone if they have that size in stock.

Like Farmr said, the numbers are etched into the face of the bearing - you will get a better deal for the bearings at a bearing supply store - this is where most of the auto supply houses get thiers and mark the price up. Just my $0.02 - you are going to get what you pay for - you can get the cheap chinese bearings, but I would go for a name brand like National (NTN), Koyo, etc. - Polaris does not sell the chinese made bearings.

Also, the needle bearing for the reverse gear is only available through polaris - if you are having to replace the tranny bearings, this needle bearing has just as much wear and needs to be replaced too.
