Hey, they tested the Raptor with the radar gun and they also tested a 440ex with the same gun. Today is my happy day!!! Raptor 0-30 2.8 seconds. Raptor 0-60 8.0 seconds. The 440ex 0-30 in 1.62, 0-60 in 7.06. A full second through 60mph. I have 2 friends that are trading for Raptors. Already have $8500 into my $400ex, whats another $500 for a 440 kit and cam? Won't they be upset? Tissues anyone? The best part is no one will ever know......

There are 2 theys. The first is the editors of ATVsport. The second is my friends who are getting Raptors who will see my taillight or numberplate (depending on what time of year it is)

 

Did you also see the Scrambler 500 2X4 is faster 0-30 mph than the Raptor? That was hard to believe.... I'm sure the Raptor is faster from 30mph up though. I don't think the Raptor is going to be the unbeatable quad most think it is, It does still seem to be the best sport quad available right now though when comparing STOCK bikes.

 

I noticed what you guys are talking about also. This is the same mag that said that the Raptor (approx 45hp) is underpowered compared to the banshee (approx 35hp) and you should buy them both. Also, does'nt the Raptor ad from Yamaha state that the Raptor is "the most powerful ATV in the world". Yes it does! Now I wonder if the Cautious Yamaha "suits" would place an ad stating something that was not true? I think not. In light of this info., is this mag credible?

 

most powerful atv in the world.......until the cannondale comes out....45 hp....50lbs lighter........it should burn the raptor pretty good.....I can't wait til they get all the bugs worked out of it and the mags test the 2 against each other. everyone is always comparing top speed......not power. shoot if I wanted to I could get my 300ex to out run a banshee and 400ex......maybe 13/33 gearing with 22" tires...hehe it would prolly run a 100 mph. haha someone should try that.later

 

I agree, the Cannondale will be a nice ATV (if we ever get a chance to see it). At first, I think that you could probabley sink enough cash in your 300ex to make it run, but still not like 400ex's and Banshee's. Then I see the equalizer....the 22" tires. They would make your modded ride scream!

 

hey hakmazter, when they say 440ex is that just the big bore and cam. or does it include a port job, rev box, dyno jet kit also. i don't have the ATVSPORT mag and it's not in my area so i can't look at it. if the statement you posted is true well all i can say is eat my dust RAPTOR, ha ha!!!!!!!!!.

Actually hakmazter your friends are pretty smart, they are going to get rid of their underpowered quads and trade up for somthing that will still beat your heavily modified 400, saving them all that money that your going to spend just to keep up with them. Then when all the aftermarket parts come out for the Raptor you will be behind until you get one.
