hmm..check out Honda ranchers for that cheap...otherwise you'd be better off spending a little more for a bigger atv, don't want to get bored of your first one so soon...I bought my Vinson Auto 500 for $6400 with tax and fees...and manual ones run cheaper...it's an awesome quad!

We really like our Ranchers, but they are not selectable 2wd/4wd. The Warn 424 selectable can be added aftermarket.

You could probably find a new Foreman 450S for $5500. ($5799. retail) Selectable 4x4
The semi-auto Eiger would be around $5000. ($5149.) Selectable 4x4
AC 250, 300 and 400's are all around the price range. ($4399. to $5549.) Select
Yama Big Bear 400 ($5199.) Select

-All semi-auto 4x4's-

with that kind of budget you can get a really good sized wheeler but don't rule out the automatic i don't think i could ever go back to a manual again after having an automatic you are always on the edge of your powerband with an automatic and if you gotta carry someone on the atv and hold onto it you put it into drive and just go where with manual you gotta fumble around a lil bit but manuals do seem to be maybe a lil more reliable where you don't have that belt to get wet or woren
