Default Scrambler chain questions

First off is the stock chain on my 2003 500 4x4 Scrambler an o-ring or non o-ring chain. Second which lube should I get and since I got it used what should I do to get it clean and start taking care of it. When I bought it the chain was coated with grease and dirt, I sprayed it off as good as I could and use a cheaper lube I got from Dennis Kirk. I've found though that if I ride for more than an hour or so hard, then it starts making a chain noise when pulling up a hill. Give it a coating with the lube and the noise stops. I don't think I should have to go to a dealer to get the lube, just want something I can get locally as I don't mind the maintenance, just want to know the general way to clean up and maintain the chain that works for trail riding, I'm not a racer and don't run to the mud but I do go through mud and water at times. I keep hearing of this maxima chain wax, should I use this. Thanks for the help guys.

Yes it is an O-ring chain

Use polaris chain lube (or any O-ring safe chain lube)

As for the noise, check the plastic chain guide on the bottom (part # 20 at the followimg)
http://www.partsland.com/index.cgi?N...SHOCK-MOUNTING

This may need adjusting so it is not constantly rubbing with presure.

I personally have not heard of or use the maxama chain wax/lube ?????

To clean it, I bought a Uneek Chain Scrubber from Rocky MT. It works great! And for a lube, I use Tri-Flow. With the Tri-flow, it seems nothing will stick to the chain.
