Default running without the oil tank screen, good idea?

hi, i went and machined up a 45 deg. fitting so that the oil tank line would point more back towards the engine for a cleaner routing of the lines, as far as the tank screen goes, i've never seen anything in it so far, and was wondering if im gonna clog something else up by running without it, and did i hear that it's not even in the '04's? gimmie info, thanks, josh.................

well, i thought about it overnite and also looked up some old posts about the screen and am putting it back in, no biggie, i've run it for a couple trips so far and no problems so far, and so i drained the tank last nite to swap the fitting out, did'nt see anything on the magnet/ plug thingy at all, so thats good, just did'nt like the hard 90 deg. bend in the supply line, we'll it'll be new oil in there now lates. josh....
