Default Rancher AT - SKID PLATES

Is it real important to have skid plates on a Rancher. I ride all type terrain trails including rocks.

I just have not seen much talk on it so I don't know. It is about $250 for both the full bottom skid plate and the rear skid plate and I got 2 ATs.

If needed would the rear end one be to most important if I were to only get one?

Thanks

The Rancher has reasonable coverage with the stock plates. I fugure all I have to do is fill in the cracks. So, I run the plastic skids from Maier. Now before you laugh, they are way more durable than you might think! They are light, and rocks skid off of them, unlike aluminum where they gaul the surface and stick. And I do serious rock crawling, so I know these can cut it.

I would not mind having skid plates either but worried about my plow mounts.

Are you still thinking about skid plates...?
I installed the full set of Ricochet ATV Skidplates and am very pleased with them.
I ride in the North East and the terrain is very rocky, these plates are high quality.

Complete Set (p/n 5770)--$269.95, includes; Full Skid (p/n 696),
A-Arm Skids (p/n 695A4) & Swingarm Skid (p/n 572).

Here is a picture of the full set installed.

What about changing oil, do the plates have to be taken off? Does anybody have a snow plow with full skid plates?

Oil changes or any other fluids are no problem. Every service location is predrilled.

Mounting a plow is not an issue.
I have the Cycle Country 48” plow.
You will need to make a few holes for the mounts u-bolts. There is some clearance lost with
the mount attached to the frame. I removed my mount for summer riding.

These pictures show the u-bolts mounted.
