Default What have I done? Clutch won't go back together.

the 30 minute clutch spring upgrade was 6 hours of hell and now my clutch won't engage. It barely moves when I pull it as hard as I can and I can only move the shifter between first and neutral. Have I totally screwed this thing up? I took it apart and put it together 3 times. First time it was real hard to put together and nothing worked. When I opened it the spindle was pushed inside the outside plate. I took the plate off and tried to put the spindle and bearings back in but it was very tight. Put it together again and now the clutch is almost impossible to pull and still doesn't do anything. When I have it in and shift to first....clunk stall. Please help as I am dying here.

just new springs? I would think that it must have something to do with the clutch acuator shaft. did the cover go back on easy?

sounds like the actuator is not moving freely.

The actuator seems to move. Is the gear supposed flush with the clutch plate? The first time I put it together it pushed it through or is the gear supposed to be loose in there? When I put the the gear and bearing back in the clutch assembly it was a real tight fit. The only thing I can think of is the gear was not all the way into the clutch plate so the gear might not be sticking out of the clutch far enough to engage the actuator fully. Could that be it?
