Buying new chain for 250R
#3
Most dealers that sell chains have a guide that will tell you how many links your chain should have for your model, whatever you ride. They will also (generally) shorten them to fit your -1 swingarm if you ask them nicely. 2-4 links off stock length should get you in the ballpark to where you can adjust it out with your carrier adjustment. Happy roosting!

When it was time for replacing the chains and sprockets on my quads I went with the DID o-ring chain. I'm very pleased with it. The dealer should be able to get you in the ballpark in regards to chain length. You can be off by a little and adjust the quad to fit.
