Default rancher speed... decreasin?

my friend has an 04 rancher 400 gpscape the fastest he's been is 52 when new... now as there is 2950 miles on it. and a bit of hrs. if he tried full speed again will he reach 52 once again? i bet him a buck he couldnt reach 55 cuz he was talking about how he could.... and the reason i think he wont even be able to reach 52 again.. never mind 55 is because my friend on his foreman used to be able to go 56 for about 2-3 weeks after he got it....then after about a month he could only reach 45... then he put tires on it and now it goes 38-40. Do you think that my friends rancher will ever see 55 or 52 for that matter.. again?

If he put bigger tires on it then the speedo will always read slower than he is actually going. Therefore, you will never see that top speed again. If the tires are the same size, they could be heavier and then it would take a lot longer for the bike to reach top end.

Run a bike full speed when it is new and you can count on it not being as quick later or lasting as long - it is a terrible way to break one in.
