Sand is always a lot of fun.....we go to little sahara state park in oklahoma, and it is a blast. If you are planning on going on this trip again, I would suggest getting the tires. They will save you from pushing a lot, and will help you get a lot better traction. You don't need front tires, but rears are a big help/improvment. Spend the money, and if you don't like them or don't go again, then sell them. I would highly suggest getting some. I think probably the best tires for trails and stuff is the new itp sand stars. They may be expensive though, not sure.

I was just at Silver Lake last weekend
You will not need paddle tires, They will up the fun factor but you don't need them
Your preditor should go anywhere you want on the stock tires.

If you do decide to get paddles I would highly reccomend the ITP Sand Stars. They are fantastic tires. Hook up excellent and corner great. I was always a spokesman for Skat Trac haulers but have since jumped ship with the Sand Stars. They are inexpensive compared to the Haulers as well. 53.00 a peice at Rocky Mountain.
