less teeth in the rear less bottom end and more top end
more teeth in the rear more bottom end and less top end
less teeth in the front more bottom end and less top end
more teeth in the front less bottom end and more top end

changeing 1 tooth in the front is equilivent to changing 3-4 teeth in the back

What he said!

You can also devide the rear by the front and basically get your gear ratio. Stock is a 13/40 i believe so stock is a 3.08 and that sprocket would give you 13/38 2.92 so you would have a hugher top speed but take longer to get there.

I have a 12/40 on my Raptor so I have a 3.33 ratio. I don't do as fast top speed but i get there lickity split. Also take into account tire size also. If you are already running 22's you might not want to run a 13/38 unless you ride full open desert type racing.
