So I've Got An Oil Leak...
#1
So i had an oil leak in my raptor 660.
I tried ti unscrew the bolts to the bottom two on the crankcase, and apparently the two rounded off inside.
We got them out and retaped the case, got one in there fine and secured, but one broke off in the case...
so we got a screw extractor and it was a bad/cheap set and it didn't work so somehow my dad put a drill in it to get the screw a little easier and the case is too hard so it went down and drilled a hole through the bottom of the case.
It's a really little hole but it's just not sealable and it sucks.
I was wondering what i would most likely be able to do to fix this... taking it to Yamaha soon to see what they think.
I wanna know what type of oil the crankcase takes, 90?
hi thx.

wowzy.... that stinks, the only suggestion i have is either mig welding *or something like that, as my friend put a whole in his with his chain and did it, and it worked.* but i'd take it to the dealer first to see what they say and get a quote to see how much... if it's only a few hundred *under 300.00, i'd by a new one - but if it's over that, i'd try a a mig weld or w/e it's called first. cuz you cant screw it up any more anyways.

... well what part did you drill through.... underneath by the oil drain bolt? if so :-/ could be sketchy and i would def. contact dealer and if they say whole new engine F that and do some weld or jerry-rigging. unless you can find a really cheap engine on ebay. or something, i would just contact dealer see how much it would cost to fix/replace and what you would have to replace... and then go from there... depending on your budget and what needs replacing.

the engine is strong as hell and i really don't want to get a new one...
it's not a hole in the engine, its a hole in the screw thing, and there's a screw stuck inside, all i need to do is well it probably, but im a bit scared to do so.
