I highly recommend this method for break-in. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm Actually, they ran your 450 on the dyno at the factory, so they already started the process for you!
I change my oil and filter after 1-2 hrs. to get rid of all the metal shavings, then again at 10 hrs. Use Honda GN4 (dino) oil for the brake-in period (~10 hrs.). Read this great article about oils. Everything that applies to the CRF's, also applies to your 450. http://www.thumperfaq.com/oil.htm
Your 450 is unique because you can run different oil in the transmission and engine. After break-in, I prefer to run Honda HP4M (a slick JASO MB oil with moly) in the engine, and Honda HP Trans Oil in the transmission. Watch your oil carefully, and change it often!
Do a valve adjustment at about 20 hrs., too. Do get the HRC kit, when you can. I run DG Race Peg nerfs, and highly recommend them!

even though i bought the kit i would not recomend it. unless of course thats all you plan to do. if you plan to do a pipe then forget the hrc kit. just buy an after market cam. most pipes come with jets but if they don't, a jet kit is cheap enough.
hrc kit=$200-300
slip-on=$250-400
jet kit=$25-50
cam=$125
hrc kit,pipe=$450-700
slip-on,jet kit,cam=$400-450
i liked what the kit did ,but i like what i am running now even more.it may be a little to loud for some, but there are other pipes out there.like i said before ,i liked what the kit did ,just consider your options. don't buy the kit just because it's there or they can get it.

Ok thanks
so if I just do the HRC kit would you recomend just a slip on just for the sound I don't plan to do more than just the kit I not going to be racing it mostly trail riding
Thanks Tim
