I looking to upgrade my sons 90. I was thinking about reeds. Will this improve the performace on a stock engine? Do i need to rejet? I dont want to do a lot at one time. He has to learn how to handle the power. Im going to take off the oil injector.

One more thing if reeds are the way to go which ones should i get? Boyensen power reeds or another brand and where is a good place to get them?

I would stick to a builder when modding. It helps them set you up if they know what you have. I'm kind of partial to WRH Racing. I've heard many good things about Hetrick too.

If your going to upgrade your reeds, I would also upgrade the carb while your at it.
I didnot notice much difference with just the reeds untill I got the 20mm carb then thats when the extra power kicked in.

P.S.
I switched fom the malossi carbon fiber reeds to the boyesen reeds they seem to make a little more of a difference.

 

We got the reeds and we did notice a big difference. It was alot peppier. Ours came from Billy Holt of WRHRACING. We did not rejet ours and it ran great.

I have ordered from both billy WRH and jon miniatvs, jon had a turnaround of 1 day on reworking a cylinder for me and a few other orders were shipped within a week. I also have good luck with ordering from billy, but, I still am waiting on a outstanding order from wrh over 3 months now. I am sure its not his fault its more do to his supplier, but what can I do ?, I will just be patient and wait.

 

Did you use boyensen power reeds? Big buck atv.com has them for $20.95. Are those the ones to get? We are not going to race just trail ride but he needs more power and a bit more speed to keep up with the dirt bikes. It goes good but just a bit more would be great. Im also going to take off the oil injector.

I went directly to the online store, but I think they have them listed for 23.00, so looks like you got a better deal. I think I spent 30.00 for the malossi reeds.
