Default 2004 Pred 90 CDI box Mods???

I heard something somewhere about cutting a green wire on a 90's CDI box to increase the rev limit but I'm not sure it had to do with the Predator 90's CDI box or an E-Ton 90. I've done a search here but didn't quite get an answer. We've done away with the stock airbox and are running a K&N and have re-jetted just a bit to dial her in. We will soon be adding a pipe. Of course we have removed the "jumper" on the stock CDI box but is there any other mods or adjustments that can be done to this stock CDI? If not what's a good aftermarket CDI box to get? THANKS!

I don't think the cdi is your problem.

If you took the jumper out it by-passed the rev limiter. It's not like the old scramblers.

Laserman, I would bet an Maxfine/QJ/MZ 100cc cdi would work on yours. No rev limiter and only about $36 if my memory is good. Mine's almost identical to the scrambler 90 in every way.

We removed the jumper from the cdi. It will go alot faster but, it does control the machine still. When my son is racing on a long straight away you can hear when the rev limiter kicks in. I spoke to many different sources about this issue including my local Polaris shop (he has 2 kids racing himself) and he along with others said the same thing. The poaris model is differnt in this way.

the predator will still have a rev limiter after you remove the wire. put an eton cdi on it and cut the green wire. ive done it a dozen times on the predator. you will have the grey wire left over that will not hook to anything, tape it off and your ready to rock.
