yesterday went for a ride on my p700 ,shut machine, off wouldn't start, so used pull starter, fired up get home check it out, puting out 15 to 16 volts at idle, stab throtle and drops to 3 to 4 volts. i'm thinking voltage regulator or stator never messed with elec. stuff before so this is all greek, pulled fuses while running, no deferance any ideas would be awsome thanks .Vern.

My suggestion is to take it back to the dealer because it should still be under warrenty.

do you have a service manual? I don't have mine here at home and I can't remember but I belive they have a test in there you can do to check the regulator/rectifier. Looks like it is over charging then not charging,,,, check to make sure all connections are good,,, seen a stick unplug the regulator before. It actually broke the connector. Location is under right rear fender.

definately look for a loose wire or battery connection, probally moving when you rev it up that is why voltage drops
