Default winch solenoid ?

I had my solenoid mounted to the right rear aluminum fender/rack support. I had drilled two holes in the aluminum bar and used self tapping screws. The contactor was exposed to alot of mud and water but I never had any problems with it. I recently removed it to install on my Brute Force and it's still working.

mounted mine on the left hand side of the airbox...up nice and high...on the frame, but under the center cowl. I also like putting a switch on the power supply to winch solenoids....so it's only powered up when ya need it....alot safer...AND..saves them from burning out prematurely. I use a power supply that's tied to the ign...but also have a switch on it aswell, so ya need both...the ign on...PLUS the switch.

i mounted mine inside the tool box. but it still gets condisation, which has made it rust. you have to watch what you put in there as well, i.e. tow straps. becase they will flop around and arc and blow the main fuse, which has happened to me once.
