Default New to the Board and have questions!!

Hello,

I just recently purchase a brand new Kawasaki Praire 650 which is my first atv. I also just purchased a new Warn 2.5 CE winch and 48" plow. I'm in the process of installing the winch and I was wondering where ya'll have installed the contact switch for the winch. I can't seem to find a good place to mount it. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Joe

welcome coloradoram, you will find this forum very informative. know back to the ?. i have mine installed in the rear tool box as well, just be sure you put those little rubber caps over the wires and make sure they are on very tight. i had on of those rubber caps come off and my tow strap grounded out the system, blew the main fuse. they are soppost to be mounted in a dry place, and the rear tool box works well but there is condinsation in there as well.

some ppl put them on the rear fender strut over the tire.

I have installed mine in the front left fender, very disgret. Used is dremel to molded in, looks like it came from factory. Easy, close to use and doesn't feel in the way.

yeah, fill out your profile!

welcome to the forum. I prefer this one to the other three I've found. Less BS, more honest info here

if you are going to use your winch for your plow consider putting on a shorter wire on it...if you leave the longer one on it may ware out the wire faster and it also may add a little more stess on the winch itself...just tryin to help

Thanks guys for the advice and welcomes ended up mounting it in the tool cubby. Now all I need for it to do is snow enough to use it I look forward to being on this board and learning a lot. I'm sure this question has been posted before but do ya'll have any tips or advice on the Praire?? I want to learn as much as I can about it since I want put bigger tires on it and make it a little bit faster. Once again thanks to all for the welcomes!!

I am sure that most of the forum members will say that some of the best mods for it is a clutch kit, and then also getting progressive springs it...I am sure others will jump in here with more information
