good place to wire in lighted whip
#2
how about running a whole new circuit. just run a lead off the batt. fused within a couple inchs of course. then run a relay with a switch. so you can just turn it off or on. or you could just run the coil side of the relay to a ignition source so it just comes on when you turn the key switch on. you might overlaod the tail light circuit if you run it off that.

The tail light running light circuit has enough to power an extra 1156 bulb; I've been doing it for quite some time now on both of my DS650s with no issues. I've run both an 1156 and a 1156 LED bulb so there should be no isses. If you wire it to the battery, put an inline fuse - you never know when that fuse will make you happy.
As far as where to get them, I dunno for sure; I use a buggy whip which is very stiff and certainly not for everybody. You might be best to buy one at a local shop. I bought my whips at Prowlers, I know they do mail order so if you can't find them locally that is an option. They are just down the street from me.

on my whip I wired an 1157 into the tailight that way i can have the key on and park brake set and I've got light without the headlight drawing my battery down.
