No Spark on my '85 250 trx
#1
Need some help guys. I bought a project bike and have run into some trouble getting it going. I have performed the following tests:
Blk/yellow wire to Green (grnd) .3 ohms
Blk/red wire to Green 268 ohms
Blue/yellow wire to Green 250 ohms
Blk/white wire to green open when key is on and switch is in run. Shorted when either is off.
The Green/red stripped wire to green has 2.9 ohms. Is this the neutral signal or the reverse signal? I don't have the battery hooked right now but the four wheeler is in neutral. Is this reading good?
I took the spark plug cable off of the plug and I get 9.75K ohms from the spark plug end of the cable to either terminal plug on the oposite end of it.
I have the crank case cover / stator assembly off of the machine so I cannot test for AC voltage at this time.
Does any info from above point to the problem?
Thanks. It is almost hunting season and I have been working off and on with this since spring.
