Default 2004 Sportsman 700 EFI - in one word awesome

Finally picked up my new 700 EFI this morning. Only ridden it for 10 mins or so...but I love this thing. The power is unbelievable and the throttle response is just amazing. Rides like a caddy.

I can't believe I haven't purchased one of these sooner...I couldn't be happier. Taking it up to Indian River here in Michigan to break it in this weekend. Then up to the Upper Pennisula on Sunday. Should be interesting to see how things hold up.

I'll keep everyone posted.

The 04 machine is quite an awesome performer. I myself own the 04.5 500HO. However, the suspension is 10 times smoother on the 05 models. You wouldn't believe the difference. In some instances I think it is too soft but for general trail riding it is unbeatable.

Enjoy your 04.5 model!!!! All I can say is don't ride the 05 unless you want to upgrade

silver - thanks that sounds like fun. From Ann Arbor about how far away is Mounds recreational grounds? I'll see if I can get away that weekend and join you. If you want shoot me an email at tdelongchamp@bdops.com

Hopefully after this weekend's ride it will be all broken in (versus just broken )

I noticed in your profile you have the Glacier plow - just received that in last night as well (I love the UPS man lately) - going to install tonight...looks pretty straightforward. Anything I should watch out for when doing the install?

I had the dealer install the warn 2.5ci winch and glacier plow. I checked out the install after I got it back though. looks pretty straight forward and all the wires are color coded so you reallycan't screw it up. the hardest part to a self install is routing the harness the way your happiest with, well that's what the dealer tech told me when I asked. I have played with the plow a few times in the driveway, my god everyone should have a plow like this with it being so easy to take on/off (15seconds).

oh and for the Mounds, I checked mapquest for an estimated distance from ann arbor to mt. morris. it's about 65miles. just take US-23 north to I-75 north through the flint exits, get off at the mt. morris rd. exit which is the next exit after the I-475/flint exit. turn right(east) when getting off on mt. morris rd., keep going east through town. some of the roads you'll cross are bray, dort hwy, genesee. if you come to irish rd. you went to far. you'll see the Mounds though on the left side of the road about a half mile after crossing genesee road, It's across the street from the genesee fair grounds/recreational area.
