Heh Nascar, usually a choke is only needed when the vehicle is cold. When cold, you will pull the choke all the way out and hit your starter button. Once it cranks slowly push it in about half way and leave it there for a couple of minutes untill the engine warms up. Then push it all the way in and start riding..Enjoy your new atv and be careful. Your owners manual should tell you the approximate temperatures you will need to use your choke. I know around her in south carolina, if the days are over 60 degrees f. you dont even need a choke..

Another thing about the choke that you need to know since you live in Michigan, when sitting on the bike you can look at the carb bowl on your left side, shifter side, on the bowl you will notice a primer **** sticking out at you about an inch or so..In real cold weather like around 25 degrees or so, if the bike doesnt start with the choke all the way out after a couple of tries, pump the primer button 3 or 4 times and then try starting it.. The primer is designed for the colder climates like you live in and will make a tremendous difference for you starting the atv when super cold. If you didnt get an owners manual with the atv, it would be well worth it to have your dealer get you one..it has lots of information for operating and taking care of your machine.
