Not sure but, let us know. My father bought the same one but, he rides really easy so only uses it to help others. Since he does not go through the mud himself, it is not truly being tested. I am wanting to put one on my wife's Arctic Cat 375 but, not if it does not hold up in the mud.

I know on the lesser expensive models the duty cycle are low. meaning you need to take it easy on how many times you use the winch say every 1/2 -1 hr. If they get hot they wont last near as long as a good quality warn/superwinch

I looked @ the manual for this winch. It's mounted with (only) 2 - 5/16" bolts, so the stress is pretty concentrated. The duty cycle appears to be "one on, ten off", which, at 4.5 FPM, means a long wait if you're truly mired.
It appears to be the typical **** Fu crap that HF is selling, like those "Cummins" tool sales that you see around the country.
I'd have to pass, myself.

I've had one for a couple of years. Don't use it much, but it works when I need it. HF has a $125 center-spool, 3,000 lb winch that looks like a knockoff of the $500 Warn.

Scara,

It sounds like a good deal until you get your quad stuck and the POS does not work. Spend the extra money and get a good one.

its hard to call when it is only $50.....one of the problems with the cheap winch is the quality...you get what you pay for. The metal is cheap, the most is important part is the windings of the motor, which are poor....

I wouldn't rely on it for getting an ATV unstuck or in an emergency when you need it....

although, I was thinking of getting one to put on my trailer to pull items up when needed, those won't be an emergency, just an inconvenience if it doesn't work....for the price, its worth it as an inconvenience.....

I have the Warn 3.0ci on my Polaris...

Just FYI:

I bought a sawzall (same brand, same price, same store!) 4 years ago. When I bought it, it came with an extra set of brushes for the motor--I laughed After I saw that, I figured I'd be lucky to get 6 months out of this thing before it **** the bed!!

I'll tell ya what, though-- I've cut EVERYTHING with this saw: cars, roof decking, chunks of steel, wood, etc. and I still have the S.O.B.!!
I just used it yesterday to cut a 10 year old O2 sensor (so I could fit a socket on) on my Chevy P/U-- still works!! It's not a winch, but the principal is the same.

I think you may have good luck with it, although the environment is a bit different with all the mud/water, vibration, etc. But for $50, you can't go wrong.

Good luck with it!

I think I agree with the statement about using it when it would be an inconvenience if it did not work. I have a Warn ordered for my quad but, it would be convenient for me if my wife could pull herself out. I still will always bring a tow rope, I've used mine way too much and it has never let me down.
