Default Yet again, scrambler clutching

im lookin for the opposite of most the clutch kits. i DONT want to raise the engagement RPM. i tried it once and i couldnt stand it. i only changed the primary spring. if im correct the engagements were 2000 and 2500, i hated both. im looking to lower the engagement as i do alot of technical riding, with some mud mixed in. right now the stock clutching does pretty good, but id like to fry less belt, and work the motor a little more. the 500 has gobs of unused power. i dont really drag or anything, so speed isnt important, and if i could, id switch the gearin but i cant. so any suggestions? the only other experience i have with clutchin is a heelclicker, and i was impressed with it. didnt seem to raise the engagement at all. helped on my uncles 400 sportsman alot. but im not sure as to how good it would be on a scrammy.

any replies would be nice

Hey you are looking for the same thing I was! I got the setup I wanted by going with a polaris yellow primary spring with stock shift weights but the bigest improvment can with a TEAM roller secondary with a 54-44-40 helix.I have a rather low engagment around 2200 rpms and a top rpm of 6800.It has excellant trail performance.

my brother has a 01 500 and we changed his to a polaris white. he seems pretty happy with his engagement. his bike came with a green which i believe is just one softer then the white. he likes it because the stall is just enough to get the rpms into the sweet spot. just a recommendation. all he has is a k&n air filter. good luck!!!

actually i think lowering the engangment would fry more belts. with the motor trying to pull when its not in its power sweet spot. a slightly higher engagment iwth a delicate hand on the throttle would prolly be best. but ya call rick ritter and he will set u up.

Dont think you can get any lower engagment with a spring change you could try a heavier set of shift weights but then you are changing the full shift out rpm.
