a banshee will win until you put a corner or a jump or some other obsticle in the way....then banshees suck.....how come you never see any at the gncmx's....cause they suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the last year of production of the zilla (91 I believe) to 2001 no one made an atv that could match the power of the banshee. It was the fastest thing on 4 wheels for 20 years, not a bad resume if you ask me. It still has the most potential of any atv, and is the premeir choice of draggers and duners along with some desert runners.

The banshee is not all that great in the twistys or off the ground but its still good enough to have a little fun. They do not "SUCK" in any situation, but they are severely disadvantaged in some handling intensive situations.

BTW, the 400 ex will lose stock, as will the z crowd. It wont be a complete blowout but the margin of victory is very convincing. When you start bumping compression and beefing up the valvetrain on these machines they close the gap on a stock shee. Pipe the shee and you have to start all over again.

Actually, I remember quite a few in the open classes. Banshee's do not suck, they just cater to their own niche. maddog56 hit the nail on the head with his explanation.

well its not that bad in turns and jumps. i never rode in the dunes, but u can bet id pick a banshee before a 400ex for that.i remember when i had my last banshee (01 stock) and a kid on a stock 03 400ex passed me out. i was able to pass in in 5th gear then shifted to 6th and lost him pretty good. we also raced from a sec gear roll on and i got to top gear for a little bit and beat him by atleast a few lengths. for higher speeds like fireroads, dunes, desert, u wont touch a banshee with a 400ex

hmm really cause i know from personal expirance the only reason the shee has a bad rap is becuase of those POS front shocks...other than that ive seen more than a few riding at not only GNC and flat track racing, but GNCC too...

Of course you see banshee's at the GNCMX and GNCC events, along with every other atv made.Quiet a few people race banshee's and do alright, but you'll hardly ever see a banshee win at these events.
