sprocket for sand??

Default sprocket for sand??

i have a warrior and am going to change the sprocket i ride mostly sand{ pismo and sand mountan} what did you do? should i go down 1 or 2 in the frunt or other?
my warrior is jetted fmf T4 pipe and is getting a new piston 1 over this week.

Default sprocket for sand??

See how you like it stock gearing. If you feel top gear (i think 6th for worrior right?) isnt pulling, or you are losing speed in that gear, Bump down a tooth in the front. Generally, you run one less tooth in the sand then you would regulary to compensate for the increased drag. Good luck.

i have never been in 6th so if i loose it i don't care

I ride in the dunes only. the warrior has such a close ratio trans. I never felt the need to gear it down. I guess it could help you pull hills in a higher gear. but, to each his own.

it would very much be nice to pul hills in a higher gear becouse if your pulling in 2nd you can't go to 1st becouse it allways stops at nutral and your stuck. so if i could get 3rd in then that would be better allaround

Exactly. Just get a one tooth smaller for the front and your set. oh yea, you might have to adjust your chain because your going to have a lot of slack. Good luck.

IMO...1 tooth in the front is equal to 3 in the rear....I wouldn't mess with the fronts at all...The best way is to do 1 tooth at a time in the rear till you find the sweet spot

did you look at the price of the sprokets? if you went down 1 in the rear and did not like it at $60.00 each to get to 3 it would be $180.00 so at $15.00 for a rear it would be better to go 1 in the rear and try that if not your only out $15.00.. yes, no ??

What kind if sprockets are you buying...gold?...Mine are 32 bucks....if you wanna cheap sport...try comic books...lol.....I know it's a little more money but if you want the best combo...thats the best way to do it.IMO.
