Yamaha 125 atc
#1
My buddy just came across a good deal. His boss just sold him a yamaha 125 atc I am waiting to find out the year. I guess the atc has been sitting in storage for some time without being started. It has a pull start and looks like there is know suspension. It has lights and is yellow. What should we do to it to get it running? Also I have not had a chance to look at it but I am not sure if this atc is 4 or 2 stroke. Any info on the atc would be appreciated.

Thanks for the repley. I was thinking the same thing but was'nt sure. I told him that he need to drain the tank put some fresh gas and change the spark plug, check the oil lube stuff up good and clean the carb. We will probably take a look at it this weekend.

Just a tip here....because I have ran across this on more than one YT125 and YT175..........
Run premix in the fuel tank directly and forget the oil injection system for right now until you verify that it is working properly.
Depending on which oil you use will determine what ratio you use.
With most oils, you will want to run 32:1 to 40:1 but with semi synthetic oils, you will want to run 40:1 to 50:1

First thing to do is check the air box for mice, then you want to poor tranny fluid down the spark plug hole so you make sure when you pull it over you cylender is well lubricated. Then clean the carb jetts and drain the carb bowl. The put a new spark plug in and prime it by mixing some 2 cylce oil with gas and shoot it into the spark plug hole and either try using the pull starter or pull start by using another atv or truck. Make sure you start out in 2nd or 3rd gear it will start easeir
