Default mudlites for 2002 Rancher

I was wondering how big of tires I can stick on my brothers 350 Rancher 4x4 with the stock rims. I think the size on them is 24-9-11. I want to get him some better tires for christmas but have no idea what size please help.

25 inch dirt devils or 25 inch mudlites. 26 and up are too much for the rancher, the tires would kill your power.

And I can stick the 25-10-12 and the 25-12-12 on the stock rancher rim?

no you cant put the 12-12s on the rear. you could put 12-11s if they have them. i have 25-8-12 in the front and 25-10-11 in the rear. thats the widest tire i think in the 25 series.

My mind is scheming a scheme!

My son has an '05 Rancher ES; it is stock. I will be getting my '05 Rubicon in about three weeks. Would the stock Rubicon Tires and wheels fit and work on my son's Rancher? It would be an upgrade for him.

If so ... I guess I'll have to get tires and wheels for my new Rubicon as I sure couldn't run around without tires and wheels now could I?

If this works ... what a scheme! We both win!

Actually the power loss on the 26" tires isnt that dramatic and the handling and traction capabilities of the larger tires easily make up for the performance loss.

Now that sounds a little over board. I'm weary about putting 28" tires on my p700 because of power loss. I cant imagine putting them on a quad with half the displacement.

I have a 2005 Rancher ES with a 1" lift and 26" mud tires and it does fine.
