ATR's on 4x2 Rancher?
#1
I am considering buying ATR's for 2004 Rancher 4x2. Looking for traction and handling. As far as I can tell they only come in 25" or 26". My 2wd Ranchers have 25 x 11-10 on rear and 24 x 8-12 on front. Will the 25" ATR's fit on the stock rims? and will the larger tires on the front change the steering/handling?
Bear with me I don't know much about ATV tire sizes.

Have them on both my Ranchers, and it's a whole different (way better) machine! Way more sporty! They won't go on your (heavy steel) stock rims, so you will have to spring for rims too. It gets pricey, but I highly recommend it!
I have them on the extremely light (now discontinued) ITP Magnum 12X7" rims (predecessors to the C-Series rims). The bike is way wider, and way more stable. I would stick with 25" on a Rancher.
Keep in mind that I don't ride much mud, so I can't say how they would do in those conditions. They are great everywhere else, but a little skiddish on hardpack.

Thank you for the info....I am sure that the ATR's will make a big difference....I just have to talk myself into spending the extra money for the new rims. It's just hard to spend so much money for front tires on a two wheel drive quad.
