Hey everybody my name is lance I' am new to the forum. I have a 2004 sportsman 500HO that I bought about 4 months ago. I have about 280 miles on it. I really want to go back to a sport quad. I would like to buy a new 04 or 05 honda 450r. If i trade it in on a new 450r the dealership will only give me 4k on trade in. I owe 6,700 on the loan. I also have a 4 year full waranty to go with that price. Is it possible to sell it on ebay or somplace else for $6,700.00? I really need your guys help.

 

i dont know if you will be able to get $6,700 for your sportsman 500. with 280 miles the max you could be able to get is $4,500. my dad had a 2004.5 Hunter Edition Sportsman 600 with a few options and only 80 miles and got $6,000 for it. just wait. pay it off a little more and then try to sell it.

 

Why would anyone want to pay you $6700 for an '04 SP 500 with 280 miles on it when a brand new '05 SP 500 can purchased from Polaris of Chattanooga for $5683 or from Abernathy's for $5699??

 

You guys are geting alot better deals then the people here in pennsylvania. I payed $7,000.00 out the door for my new sportsman 500 ho with a four year waranty. Do you guys think I got a decend deal? I would really love to keep it, pay it off, and then go out and buy a new sport quad. But I cant afford that. I know some states dont have sales tax. We do! Do you guys have sales tax? If i travel to where you guys are from how much would I pay for a 2005 honda 450r out the door?

 

just keep it for plowing working and muddin, and buy a new pred for summer.

 

sorry to get off topic but i have a question for crazyoldfart. does that say that you have a supertrapp muffler on your 1999 sportsman 500. if so...do you like it.

 

yes supertrapp, its just ok for the little power gain,its too loud

 

I would imagine. I think I have decided to keep it for tail riding, mudding, work, and just plane out winter riding. I was up at my local yamaha and suzuki dealership looking at the 05 yfz 450s. What do you guys think of them? It would be so fun to have 2 quads. One for winter and summer and the other for just summer at the track.
