I just installed a pipe, removed airbox lid, and rejetted my 400ex. Now in every gear when I a close to maxing out, my ignition starts to break up. Am I hitting my rev limiter, or does the rev limiter just stall the engine (like a govener on a car)?

 

it will sputter at the rev limitter. It will also sputter if jetted wrong. It will be hard to see which one you aer dealing with. They dropped the gearing on the 05 so, you are probably revving out.

 

I think it is the rev limiter. I did a plug check after jetting, and it only does the sputtering at really high rpms. I wasn't sure if the rev limiter was a kill or a sputter, if you know what I mean.
