Default Tire size vs speed & power

Hi Guys. I recently changed the tires on my sons DS90. I went in the rear from the stock 19x8x8 to a 18x6.5x8 ITP holeshot tire.
The ITP tires are lighter but I was wondering if this will give me more bottom end or top end. I think going with a smaller tire will give it more bottom end power correct ?

Yes, you are changing the effictive gear ratio. Should feel stronger by going to a shorter rear tire.
