Default towing boat trailer in sand

I need to replace my bombardier traxter 500 xt with electric gear shift to tow a boat on a beach. Boat and trailer are about 1800 lbs the sand is sometime deep and soft an the slope is steep at the end of the beach. The traxter managed to do this but was stolen. Bombardier only sells traxter max 650 with CVT transmission. Do you know if this will be a problem regarding the belt in low transmission ? Other choices would be an artic cat 650 V2 or a yamaha grizzly 660.
Thanks for your help.

i wouldnt tow a 1800 boat in sand with a cvt. to much stress on the belt even in low range. if u do deside to go with the cvt, put a clutch kit in it so u dont have to worry about smoking the belt

If I had to tow something, my choice would be the new Honda Foreman 500. Manual transmission and lots of low end power. Solid axle to handle the heavy load.

Why not just get another Traxter gear to gear 500? If it did the job and you were happy with it, just get another one. 1800LBS is a lot to ask of a belt.

I was going to get a new one but bombardier in europe does not sell it any more . The gear shift traxter 500 is replaced by a cvt 650 TRAXTER in fact a quest. Do any of you use a 2inch receiver with a cargo box swing away ?

id get a solid rear axle and throw some paddles on there for traction, so maybe a prarie 700, i would also like to comment that polaris has the highest stock weight towing ability

Wow. I wonder why that is? They still sell them in the states. Maybe not enought sales in Europe?
In any event, I would go with the heaviest and most powerful ATV you can get then. I would go with a 800EFI or a big Cat or a Max 650 Bomb. 1800lbs is a lot for a belt though. Lets me know how tough the Traxter was!!!!

a clutch kit consists of new springs and wieghts that are designed to put more clamping force on the belt so it doesnt slip

The traxter with electric gear shift managed to do this work for 2 years without problem. So I think it was the good machine It could afford more power in some situations. The transmission never slipped but would clonk from time to time in low gear at high rev. Transmission belts seem to be not as reliable. I am trying to find a traxter max 500 with electric gear shift.
