Default Newbie Needs Help, Scrambler 400

I purchased a 2001 Scrambler 400 from an insurance auction a couple months ago. I finally got some time to start fixing her up and I think the frame might be bent.... I have taken off all of the Plastics, gas tank, oil tank, bumper, radiator, fan... The top rails (what the seat sits on) look to be bowed. I do not see any definite bends or buckles in the frame but it definitely has a bow to it. Are the top rails suppose to be straight ? I have a 400ex and a Banshee and as far as I remember the top rails on them are straight.

I have searched this forum and the web trying to find a picture of a bare frame but have had no luck. I will post a picture of my frame in a couple hours when the wife gets home with the camera.

Here is a link to the bike.

I will search through the photo page and try and find a picture to compare it to.

To me it looks like the back of the frame is bent down. Was this quad in a wreck? I'm sure it probably was since it was a insurance buy.

I also meant to mention you can usually find frames on ebay for pretty cheap.

Yes it was in an accident. It appeared to be just a straight on collision with a pole or tree... The front bumper, radiator, fan and fender was damaged. I did not notice the frame damage at first glance. I paid $900 for it. It is a 2001, I have started it up breifly but shut her down after about 20 seconds because there was no radiator.... I still cant find any other pictures...
